New RoboCylinder Generation 2007
MS 26/03/2007
The family of RoboCylinder next-generation cylinders offers easy
operation, high functionality and energy-saving features at affordable
cost.
Each series, as same as the forerunner generation, includes models that
employ a coupling connection. Built-in types and motor reversing types
are also available, depending on the series.
Highly functionality and flexibility is achieved by attendant new
position controllers P-CON, A-CON and S-CON and program controllers
S-SEL, X-SEL and by P-SEL and A-SEL, which will be available from
september 2007. The last thing was realized by replacement of IAI’s 1st
RoboCylinder generation’s protocol TERMIBUS by the open communication
protocol MODBUS.
Particularly possible mounting mechanisms are introduced which are
compatible to mounting method’s of air cylinders. Because of this
replacement is possible without complex design modifications.
The new RoboCylinder generation correspondents to CE certification and
to ROHS conformity for european market launch in march.
The new RCA series is a drive system with 24 VDC servo-motor with
incremental or, except for a few slider types with iron base RCA-SS and
Ø32 mm rod types RCA-R#3, absolute encoders. It’s a low cost alternative
to the more powerful refined RCS2 series with 230 VAC servo-motor.
Now various control methods and interfaces are supported just as the
other RoboCylinder series: I/O, serial communication (via PROFIBUS
gateway) and pulse-train input. For this, depending on intended use, you
can choose the controllers A-CON and A-SEL of the IAI modular system,
now with overall 15 RoboCylinder controller types: from 3-point
positioning (“air cylinder modus” by A-CON-CY) to 2-axes applications up
to 1500 positions (A-SEL-C2). Same applies to other RoboCylinder series
RCP2 (by P-CON/P-SEL) and RCS2 series (by S-CON/S-SEL).
Speed, acceleration and deceleration can be programmed to every
position. The push force, e.g. for pressing on a workpart, can be varied
by input data changing in the position table. In addition arch motion
is also possible (only SEL controllers).
The RCA series also includes a cleanroom type (slider type according to
ISO cleanliness class 4) and a dust-/splashproof type (rod type with
bellow IP 54).
